Mam Tor - A Winters Hilke

A short hike up Mam Tor.  The weather was terrible, very windy and snowing at the top.  For a cold winters day we did see many people taking the trip up to the top.

The paved path up to the top

A short video of our adventures - it was very cold so the video is quite short.

Looking down on the Trig Point

The views from the top were a complete 'white out'. We we going to take the walk along the ridge line to Hollins Cross and maybe Loose Hill but decided against it.

Edale to Hope Cross

An enjoyable winters hike from the village of Edale to Hope Cross and back. A trip of  around 7 miles through the Vale of Edale.

A bridge across Grindbrook.

One of the many streams flowing down from Kinder Scout into the Vale.

Hope Cross - A stone sign post on the old Roman Road.

Back in Edale looking across towards Mam Tor and Hollins Cross after a small snow shower.

The First Snows of 2016

Sunday January 2016 saw the first snows of the year, after months of warm winter weather and lots of rain. A few pictures of Clophill Village and the surrounding countryside including the old Hill Fort.
